A photographic quest to find 100% true blue Aussie culture.
Little Traditions is the quest by Hobart photographer and filmmaker Andy Wilson to search out Australia’s dinky di cultural traditions and he needs your help to find them.
As a country we have many daily, weekly, monthly and yearly traditions, but how many can we actually say represent Australian culture? Today, Australia is a multi-cultural society, but are all of our traditions imported from other places and societies?
Australia’s original Aboriginal land owners have a rich cultural heritage that has evolved over thousands of years. In contrast Australia’s European settler’s culture is only 200 years young – how and where do these 2 giant cultural contrasts combine to become a singular Australian tradition?
Do you get involved in a local tradition? What is it? Where do you do it? Who do you share it with and do you think it’s 100% Australian made?
From beach Cricket to Goon of Fortune, AFL Grand Final Day or the ANZAC Parade – Little or large, serious or seriously funny, all traditions are welcome but they have to be 100% Australian Made.
Share your tradition and your opinion on my Little Traditions Facebook page… I want to know why you think it’s 100% true blue and if enough people agree I’ll come and photograph your tradition in full swing.
